About Krystal

I have always been drawn to the beauty of the past— old movies, vinyl albums, vintage clothes, found papers, fragments of history left behind… My artwork is a blend of collage and mixed media, built from abstract paintings, gel prints, old and new magazines, books, ephemera, discarded materials that once had a life of their own. Each piece is a dialogue between past and present, remnants of before forming a new design.

I love the process of discovery—flipping through aged pages, uncovering lost beauty, finding a new way of seeing an image and letting myself find how it all comes together. My art explores themes of time, identity, femininity, and the layers of personal and collective history that shape us. It pulls the past into forms that can express the feelings of today.

I live in Denver, Colorado and am a Senior City Planner working in Historic Preservation. I have degrees in Urban & Regional Planning and Historic Preservation. I love exploring cities, architecture, travel, cemeteries, art and my 2 cats.
